Mizanoor Rahmen

Mizanoor registered with Our Newham Work and joined one of our job training schemes. After training, he decided he wanted to move from a career in retail to a career in construction.

Mizanoor had no previous experience in construction. One of our advisors saw that he was motivated to change his career path. We supported Mizanoor onto an introductory construction multi-skills training course that was commissioned by us with funding from Lloyds bank. Whilst still studying, Mizanoor has since joined a construction firm and been promoted.

Each Our Newham Work adviser takes into account our resident’s skills and interests and uses their wealth of knowledge and industry connections to find the best possible placements.

Mizanoor is able to fit his study around his new role, a fact that he is delighted with. “I’m still studying one day a week at London Design and Engineering UTC @UEL campus”. Mizanoor is currently studying for a Level 3 construction apprenticeship at the University of East London and is now well positioned to start a long and successful career in an industry he loves.
